These terms describe how the service actually works today. They are being reviewed by a lawyer before paid plans open; until then, treat them as a working draft.
1. Who you're dealing with
Layers3D is run by 12658097 Canada Inc., which also does business as TechnoPrints, from Cambridge, Ontario, Canada (“Layers3D”, “we”, “us”). “You” means the shop that signs up and the people it adds.
2. The service
Layers3D is quoting, order and production software for 3D print shops: instant quotes, order boards, customer quote and tracking pages, the shop agent that talks to your printers, and the other tools described on this site and inside the software. You use it to run your shop. Your customers use the pages you send them.
3. Signing up
- Sign-up is by invitation for now. Founding Shops start on 1 November 2026; public sign-up opens later.
- You must be a business, or someone acting for one, and at least the age of majority where you live.
- You're responsible for the people you add, what they do in your shop, and keeping passwords and two-factor devices safe. Tell us right away if you think an account was taken over.
4. Trial, plans and billing
- Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. You add a card at sign-up through Stripe Checkout, and nothing is charged until the trial ends. Cancel before then and you pay nothing.
- There are three plans: Starter, Professional and Enterprise. Prices are on the pricing page in Canadian, US and Australian dollars, euros and pounds. You're billed in the currency you pick, monthly or yearly, in advance. Yearly is paid up front.
- Starter covers up to 3 printers and 30 orders a month. Professional covers up to 15 printers. Enterprise has no printer limit. The other plan limits are on the pricing page and are enforced in the software. Going over the monthly order count shows a notice; it never turns a customer away.
- Shops that were using Layers3D before these plans started keep the features they already had.
- You can change plans any time from Billing & Plan. Changes apply from your next billing date.
- If a payment fails, Stripe retries it and we let you know. If it keeps failing, the subscription ends the same way a cancellation does (section 11).
- Fees aren't refundable, except where the law says otherwise. Sales tax is added where it applies.
5. Founding Shop and beta discounts
- Founding Shops get 20% off Professional for their first 12 months. There are 25 spots, open until the end of November 2026.
- Beta testers get 33% off any plan for their first 12 months.
- After those 12 months, the regular price for your plan applies. We'll remind you before it changes. Discounts don't stack and can't be swapped for cash.
6. Your data
Your shop's data, including your customers' details and files, belongs to you. You give us permission to store, process, show and send it only so we can run the service for you. We don't sell it, don't show it to other shops, and don't use it to train AI. How we handle it is in our privacy policy and our data processing agreement, which is part of these terms. You can export your data from inside the software at any time.
7. Payments from your customers
If you take card payments, they go through your own Stripe account, connected with Stripe Connect. The money goes to you, under Stripe's terms. We aren't a party to that payment and don't hold your funds. Refunds, chargebacks and disputes are between you, your customer and Stripe.
8. AI features
AI features run on an AI key your shop adds. Requests go to that provider under your account and its terms, and you pay them directly. No key means no AI features. Every AI suggestion is a draft; you decide what's sent.
9. Your responsibilities
- You're responsible for the prices, terms and content you send your customers. The pricing engine suggests; you decide what a quote says.
- You must have the right to print the files customers send you. Don't use the service for anything illegal, including parts under export controls you aren't licensed for.
- Follow anti-spam law for messages you send through the service.
- Don't try to get into another shop's data, break the service, or overload it.
10. What we promise
We work to keep the service up and fix problems fast, and we post what changed. We back up the database every night and your files every few hours. We don't promise it will never go down or never have a bug. Planned maintenance is announced inside the software when we can. Support is by email; Professional gets priority and Enterprise gets a named contact.
11. Cancelling and ending
- You can cancel any time from Billing & Plan. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. After that, the account drops to Starter with no subscription.
- Your data stays for 90 days after that so you can export it or come back. We email you at 60 and 83 days. If you haven't come back by day 90, your shop's data and files are deleted. Backups roll off on their own schedule after that (see the DPA).
- We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, doesn't pay, or puts the service or other shops at risk. We'll tell you why.
12. Other services
Apps you connect (for example Shopify, Etsy, Google, Microsoft 365, Wave, QuickBooks, Xero, ShipStation, ClickShip, Twilio, Quo, your AI provider, Bambu Lab printers) run under their own terms. We aren't responsible for them going down or changing, but we'll do our best to keep up.
13. Limits on liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or the cost of failed prints or missed deadlines. Our total liability under these terms is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that the law says can't be limited.
14. Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top changes. Material changes are announced inside the software at least 30 days before they take effect. Using the service after that date means you accept them.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Ontario.
